Summer Concert Series To Begin
CELORON — The village of Celoron will begin its 2022 summer concert series with Osborn Nash performing from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight in the Desi Arnaz Bandshell in Lucille Ball Memorial Park. Concerts are sponsored by the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation and the village of Celoron. Concerts will also be held from a to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, featuring The Short Bus, and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, featuring Qwister. Bring a lawn chair for seating.
Band To Perform At Gazebo
The Busti Gazebo Concert will feature “Old Dawg” bluegrass band from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday at the gazebo next to the Busti Fire Hall. The show will feature Mark Davis on the upright bass; Steve Strom on mandolin and vocals; Bill White on banjo, dobro and vocals; and Steve Eng on the guitar and vocals. They perform throughout Western New York and Pennsylvania doing benefits, festivals, community events, weddings and parties. The event is sponsored by the Busti Hamlet Development Association and the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation.
Dice Run To Benefit UCAN City Mission
FALCONER — Brother’s by Choice will host a dice run Saturday to benefit UCAN City Mission in Jamestown. The event kicks off at Harley-Davidson of Jamestown, 1951 E. Main St., Falconer, and ends at the American Legion Herman Kent Post 777, 26 Jackson Ave., Jamestown. Registration is from 8-10 a.m., with kickstands up at 10:15 a.m. The cost is $15 per rider, $10 for passengers and $5 for a dice roll. Food and drinks, along with a 50/50 drawing, will be available at the end of the run. All riders are welcome to attend.
Book Signing To Be Hosted By Fenton, July 19
The Fenton History Center will host a book signing on Tuesday, July 19, at 6:30 p.m. with author Bill Walsh, who will discuss his new book, Lakewood, set in the village of Lakewood. It is the first book in a series of three. Walsh was born in Jamestown and raised in Lakewood. He now lives in Atlanta, Ga., where he is the director of the undergraduate and graduate creative writing programs at Reinhardt University. He is the editor of the James Dickey Review and when not writing, he spends time with his family, enjoys competitive tennis and golf, as well as playing chess internationally. There is no cost to attend.
Golden Agers To Meet July 19
LAKEWOOD ä The Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, at the Lakewood American Legion. The meeting will be in the form of a picnic, and members are asked to bring a dish to pass and their own table service. Beverages will be provided. At the meeting, reservations and fees of $6 will be taken for the groupás next meeting on Aug. 16, which will be a chicken barbecue prepared by the legion staff. Members who are unable to attend the July meeting and want to make a reservation for the barbecue are asked to call Rose Prieur.
